November 16
Mississippi State University Extension in Scott County, Scott County Mississippi Homemaker Volunteers and Forest Community Arts will sponsor “Creative Christmas”, Thursday, November 16, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Forest National Guard Armory.   

November 19
At Colbert Commons, Sunday, November 19, from 2 PM – 4PM, Forest Community Arts and Forest Downtown Development will host Robert St. John and Wyatt Waters.

New Friendship Baptist Church will host their Church Anniversary celebration on Sunday morning, November 19 at 10:15 a.m. Our guest speaker will be Rev Richard Taylor, New Style Baptist Church, Equality, Alabama.

New Bethel M.B. Church of Forest will celebrate its 85th yr. Church Anniversary on November 19th at 3:00 p.m. The guest speaker for this occasion will be Rev. Marvin Chapman of the Old Palestine M.B. Church of Taylorsville, MS.

November 20
On Monday November 20 the East Ms Greys SCV Camp 1666 will have as its Speaker camp member David Gould of Lake. David will do a program on the 4 Thanksgivings from 1861 - 1864.  Everyone is invited to attend. November 26
The Scott County Training School/E.T. Hawkins High School Alumni Association Planning Committee will meet Sunday, November 26, 2017 at the Odessa Graves building at 4:00 pm.

December 4
The Morton Christmas Parade is scheduled for Monday, December 4, at 6 pm.  Line-up for judging is 5:00 pm. The Theme for the parade is “Christmas Blessings” and the Grand Marshall are: Mr. and Mrs. Reggie Robertson. There are three categories to be judged: Red- Religious; Green-Business/Commercial; Gold- Civic/Organization. Pageant Winners will be judged for the Best Decorated Car. Judging will be based on: Originality, Effort in Preparation and Overall Appearance. Entry Forms can be picked up from Ken Gordon at the Bank of Morton, at the City of Morton and at the Chamber Office.
