Mary and Russell Martin were united in marriage last Saturday, October 28th at 3:00 p.m. at Harperville Baptist Church. A large crowd of family and friends were on hand to witness the beautiful ceremony officiated by Rev. Bobby McKay.
Steve, Karon and Irene Martin hosted a “Forever After Party” at the Burnham homeplace following the reception. The wedding party and family were treated to the Kreeper Nelson Band, more food, games, a bonfire and fireworks.  In addition to local relatives, other family members attending were from Brandon, Hattiesburg, New Orleans, Memphis, Gadsden, Ala. and Destin, Fla.  The Harvey and Martin families both express their deepest gratitude to all who helped make the wedding a perfect day.
Last Sunday night, HBC hosted a church-wide Fall Festival which included a Chili Competition and Fellowship, a Trunk-or-Treat and a Hayride.
Members of HBC recently collected and donated over 140 pounds of dry goods, beans and rice to the Carlisle Crisis Center.
This past Sunday morning the Men’s Ministry held their monthly breakfast fellowship with nineteen males of all ages in attendance.  The blessing for the food was given by Kolby Brantley, age 3, son of Lacy and Kyle Brantley.
The Scott Central Rebels won their first round of playoffs on Friday with a score of 51-0.  They will be taking a long road trip this Friday to Rosedale to play West Bolivar in round two.  Go Rebels!
Also, the Scott Central Rebel Pride Band competed in the MSHAA-MBA Marching Band Championship on Saturday and placed 8th in the State. SC Band Director, Dustin Haley, commented on Facebook that his band had, “much higher scores than last year!! Every year we just keep moving up score wise. We beat 4 really awesome bands who had much more money and props than we did. So I couldn’t be more proud!! Now on to Disney World we go in March of 2018!!”
