Join us for Bible Study
on Wednesday night
Thanksgiving Dinner was served at Midway M. B. Church on last Sunday, immediately after service. The dressing was prepared as always by Bobbie Sanders. D’Arcy Stowers and his brother Jerome smoked the turkeys.
Rev. Ronnie Whittington is in the VA Hospital. His wife reported that he was to undergo surgery. Remember him, his wife Venita and the rest of his family in your prayers.
Midway M. B. Church is inviting everyone to attend their Bible Study on Wednesday Night starting at 6:30 pm. Rev. Wesley Griffin will be conducting Bible Study until further notice. Bible Study will begin with the topic, “God’s Pattern of Leadership and Evangelism”
The Century Family Reunion will be held at Roosevelt Park, June 22 and 24, 2018. Saturday Night events will be held at Reach One on One in Forest. We are gearing up for great attendance. The Reunion is at home where all the people originated from that started the reunion in the Sixties.
Rev. Wesley Griffin again delivered a well-spoken word on last Sunday and will continue to deliver the message until the pastor returns.
Minnie Pearl Strong is back at home with her daughter as her care giver. Remember to pray for her husband Billy who is also ill and the rest of her family.
Others on our sick list consists of Betty White Flowers, Mack Arthur Robinson, Percy Shepard, Doris Holifield, Katie Mae Kincaid, Mattie Holifield, Maggie Smith, Freda Ward, David Parrott, Linda Parrott, and Nettie Kennedy who is also the oldest living member of the Midway Community.

Red Velvet Cake Recipe
2 cups of sugar
1 tsp salt
2 cups salad oil
4 eggs beaten
1 cup buttermilk
1 tsp vinegar
2 tsp vanilla flavoring
1 (2 oz.) bottle red food coloring
3 cup cake flour
3 tsp cocoa
1 tsp soda
1 medium size can crushed pineapples drained.
Directions: Cream the sugar and oil in a mixing bowl. Add eggs and beat well. Add vinegar and food coloring. Sift flour, soda, salt and cocoa together and add to creamed mixture. Add buttermilk slowly; mix thoroughly. Then add vanilla and drained pineapple and beat well. Pour into greased and floured cake pans. I usually make 4 thin layers. Bake at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes.
Filling for Cake: 1 ½ sticks oleo; 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese; 1 teaspoon vanilla; 1 box powdered sugar; and 1 cup chopped nuts (I use pecans)
Directions for Filling: Cream oleo and cream cheese in a bowl. Add vanilla. Sift powdered sugar and add gradually to creamed mixture.
