Normile builds Gaga Ball pit as Eagle Scout project

PJ Normile, 14, is working his way to Eagle Scout by building a Gaga Ball Pit at Gaddis Park. Dubbed a kinder, gentler version of dodge ball, Gaga is a fast paced, high energy sport played in an octagonal pit.
PJ’s current rank is Life Scout. He is a member of Boy Scout Troop 63 in Forest. The charter sponsor is the Forest Baptist Church with Scoutmaster, Vance Cox, and four assistant Scoutmasters: Trint Crimm, Gary White, Christy White, and Chris Guy.
“We want to give recognition for the work put in by him and his fellow scouts,” said White. Part of the Eagle Scout Project is to help teach leadership and organization, along with many other skills. If all goes according to plan, Normile will be an Eagle Scout by the end of December. He is currently finishing up his requirements.

The Scott Central football team will be guided by a new head coach this coming year.
