Crotwell Retires

Vernon Crotwell of Morton (left) was recently honored upon his retirement from the East Central Community College Board of Trustees. He was presented with a plaque from ECCC Board Chair Dr. Jimmy Hollingsworth of Lake at the February meeting of the Board held on the campus in Decatur.

Announcements:  Dates for the February We Care Missions Food Distribution are Friday, February 9 and Friday, February 23.  Those eligible to receive food  boxes must register at Fellowship Hall of Morton United Methodist Church, 29 Church Street from 10 a.m.-12 noon.





Sammie Louise Nunley Rigsby

Mrs. Sammie Louise Nunley Rigsby, 91, went to be with her Lord and Savior in Heaven on February 1, 2018.  She was born on October 7, 1926 in Forest, Mississippi to Staton Baker and Mamie Moore Nunley. She was the youngest of fourteen children, all of whom preceded her in death. She was married to the late E.J. Rigsby.

Second Annual Toy Drive underway

The Scott County Sheriff’s Department began accepting donations Monday in their second annualy Sheriff’s Toy Drive. There is a drop off box at the Scott County Sheriff’s Department in the lobby which is open to the public 24 hours a day. There will be a small drop box at Petals & More in Forest.
