TIM BEELAND, Editor and Publisher
As editor and publisher, Tim is responsible for the overall operation of the newspaper and writes a weekly column. A native of Newton, Miss., he began his newspaper career at the Clarksdale Press Register in Clarksdale, Miss. in 1984. He then served as advertising director for the Greenwood Commonwealth in Greenwood, Miss. before being named editor and publisher, in the late ‘80s, of the weekly Winona Times in Winona, Miss. and the Carrollton Conservative in Carrollton, Miss. In 1996 he started the weekly Rankin Record in Flowood, Miss. and took over the reins of the Scott County Times in 2009. He is a graduate of Mississippi State University and the winner of multiple writing, photography and advertising awards. Tim and his wife, Danny, have a daughter in graduate school at Mississippi State University and split their time between their family home in Sebastopol, Miss. and their lake house at the Ross Barnett Reservoir.



CHRIS ALLEN BAKER, Managing Editor
As managing editor, Chris is responsible for assembling and producing the editorial content of the newspaper. A native of Winona, Miss., he began his writing career while a sophomore at Winona High School and began his professional newspaper career at The Winona Times in 1995 as a staff writer and photographer. He later served on the staffs of The Panolian in Batesville, Miss., The Rankin Record in Flowood, Miss., and The Clarion Ledger in Jackson. After a stint in public relations with the state government, he returned to newspapers at The Meridian Star in Meridian, Miss., and later the Neshoba Democrat in Philadelphia, Miss., and The Kemper Messenger in DeKalb., Miss., before arriving at The Scott County Times in 2003. He is a graduate of the University of Mississippi and has won awards in writing and photography. Chris and his wife, Emily, have a young son, Aaron, in school at Forest Elementary.


CHRIS WADE, Advertising Sales

As advertising sales consultant, Chris is responsible for helping businesses with their advertising needs as well as layout and design of individual advertisements.  A native of Smith County, he started with The Scott County Times in October 2015.  Prior to The Times, he worked in Bay City, Texas with TLLC Media as a Sportscaster before returning home to Mississippi to be closer to family, and give his children the opportunity to be raised amongst family and friends.  He serves as a volunteer fire fighter and first responder for Polkville Volunteer Fire Department.  Chris is married to Rochella Wade and has two young daughters, Christina “C.J.” and Rachel.  Chris enjoys various activities and spending time with family.


CINDY HARRELL, Office Mgr., Classifieds, Legals & Subscriptions

As office manager, Cindy is responsible for accounts payables and receiveables as well as the classifieds, legals and subscriptions.
