Rivero, Nicholson to wed October 7 in Jackson
Dr. Brenda Strahan Rivero of Hattiesburg announces with great pleasure the engagement and approaching marriage of her daughter, Julie Tierney Rivero, to Austin Chandler Nicholson of Jackson. The bride-to-be is also the daughter of the late Dr. William Tierney Rivero, Sr. Nicholson is the son of Patsy Muse Nicholson of Forest, and the late George Edward Nicholson, Jr.
Julie is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jules Louie Rivero of New Orleans, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Orvis Strahan of Poplarville. She is a graduate of William Carey University with a B.S. in Psychology. She completed her Doctor of Medicine at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, and her residency at UMMC. Dr. Rivero is currently a primary care physician at Baptist Medical Clinic in Byram.
The groom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Edward Nicholson, Sr., of Newton, Mississippi, and Annie Holley Muse and the late Henry Fredrick Muse of Union, Mississippi. Chandler is a graduate of Forest High School and Mississippi State University with a B.S. in Biological Sciences. He obtained his master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, and the Doctor of Medicine from UMMC. Dr. Nicholson completed his residency at UMMC in Internal Medicine. He is currently a hospitalist at St. Dominic’s Hospital in Jackson.
The couple will exchange vows at 2 p.m. on October 7, 2017, in the Cathedral of St. Peter the Apostle in Jackson with a reception to follow at the Fairview Inn in Jackson.
