The Forest Baptist Church Good News Singers & Young at Heartz will present Christmas Dinner Theater on Thursday, November 30th, at 12:00 p.m. in the Family Life Center. Free Lunch!
East Central Community College invites area residents to get into the Christmas spirit by attending the third annual Warrior Wonderland Friday, Dec. 1, on the campus in Decatur. The special celebration of Christmas will begin immediately following the Decatur Christmas Parade, about 6:30 p.m., and conclude by 8:30 p.m. Warrior Wonderland will kick off with a fireworks display and visitors will have a variety of activities to choose.
The Morton Christmas Parade is scheduled for Monday, December 4th, at 6 pm. Line-up for judging is 5:00 pm. The Theme for the parade is "Christmas Blessings" and the Grand Marshall are: Mr. and Mrs. Reggie Robertson. There are three categories to be judged: Red- Religious; Green-Business/Commercial; Gold- Civic/Organization. Pageant Winners will be judged for the Best Decorated Car. Judging will be based on: Originality, Effort in Preparation and Overall Appearance. Entry Forms can be picked up from Ken Gordon at the Bank of Morton, at the City of Morton and at the Chamber Office. In case of rain, the parade will be the following Monday, December 11th, at 6 pm. There will be pre-parade entertainment by the Morton Elementary School Music Students under the direction of Ms Sherrie Wilkerson beginning at 5:30 pm.
First Baptist Church Morton will host their annual Christmas Cantata Sunday December 10, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. This year’s Cantata is "Peace" symbol of the Dove. Once again Choir Director Barbara Ott and Multi Media Director and Drama Director Dr. July Lewis have put together a wonderful program that all ages can enjoy. Come early to get a seat. These programs have been known to have many from other churches as well as locals from surrounding area attend. There will be beautiful Christmas music, drama, multi-media and special effects. There are always surprises to delight everyone. Mark your calendar for the second Sunday in December.
