Quick Bites is a program offered through the Mississippi State University Extension Service that provides timely information on a wide variety of topics to citizens across the state through interactive video. These programs are held during lunch (from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m.) on Thursdays at the Scott County Extension office, 230 South Davis Street, Forest. Sylvester United Methodist Church Spring Revival will begin on Sunday, March 4 at 11:00 a.m. with pastor E.J. Shepard and following at 1:00 p.m., Pastor Timothy Croft of Line Pilgrim M.B. Church will deliver the afternoon message. Services will continue on Monday night at 7:00 p.m.

A $1,000 scholarship is being offered to high school seniors planning to become nurses. The Lackey Hospital Auxiliary offers this scholarship in addition to other activities they provide to the hospital and patients such as gift bags on some holidays and placing magazines in waiting rooms. Forest Community Head Start is still registering 3 and 4 year-old children for the upcoming school year. Your child must be 3 or 4 on/or before September 1, 2018. Registration hours are: Monday - Friday : 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. In the event that you need to come later, please call the center to make an appointment. You will need to bring the following documents:
• Child's Birth Certificate
• Child's 121 Shot Record
• Proof of Income for the previous 12 months (2017)
• Child's Insurance/Medicaid/CHIPS Card
• Doctor's Statement of any Special Needs
