Grandparents’ Valentines Banquet is Saturday

The deacons of Harperville Baptist Church hosted a Stew Supper on Sunday night which they prepared and served to the church family. 

The HBC Annual Grandparents’ Valentines Banquet will be Saturday, February 17th at 6 p.m. 

Next Sunday, Kerry Jackson, of the North American Mission Board, will be the special guest speaker during the evening services starting at 5:00 p.m. Mr. Jackson uses art to share his message.

 Irene, Steve, Karon, Russell, Mary and Tara Martin hosted a birthday celebration for Zach Whittington. Other guests were Billy, Tonya and Austen Whittington, Eden Ware, and Wayne, Cathy, Elijah and Justus Harvey.  Everyone enjoyed Zach’s favorite foods:  Karon’s hot dog casserole, Russell’s hamburgers and Tara’s banana split cake. A lively and highly competitive game of Farkle followed the supper.

Congratulations to T.J. Wash on signing his letter of intent to play football next fall with Pearl River Community College.  

Eighteen members of the SC Educators Rising recently attended and competed in the state conference in Natchez, MS.  This organization’s purpose is to allow students to explore the many facets of the field of education.   Students participated in a variety of categories pertaining to education. Congratulations to Jessica Darby on placing second in lesson planning and Rodney Leflore on placing 4th in Issues in Administration. 

There will be no school on President’s Day Holiday next Monday, February 19th.
