Father’s Day at Midway M. B. Church was a beautiful banquet.  The food was prepared by Delie Shepard, Annie McCarter, and Annie Stowers.  Deserts were homemade pounds cakes by Delie Shepard and Dr. Lorraine Riley. Tom Wilson also donated two cakes.  Patty Odom made sure the deserts were displayed and easily gotten. The Fellowship Hall Tables and windows were decorated in Black and Silver. Jennie Clay was a great help in helping.

Dr. Lorraine took pictures of all the fathers and their families for future pictures of Father’s Day.

I cooked for Father’s Day the famous, “Evelyn Nicks Pound Cake.  She had shared her recipe with me.  The cake turned out wonderful and easy to make.  All ingredients must be room temperature.  I learned a lot about room temperaturing butter, margarine and cream cheese.  Very important, take those ingredients out of the wrappers before leaving them to become room temperature. I will share more of the recipe next week.

Thomas and Dr. Locord Wilson attended Sunday School at Midway M. B. Church, Thomas taught Sunday School.  They then left to attend the day with his brothers and sisters and their families in Jackson.  They all attended Konia Baptist Church morning services.  His Message was on “giving”.  A father is a giver to his family.  After services, the Wilson Family had dinner at the home of his niece Ashley Braddy Anderson and her family in Jackson. It was reported the food was plentiful and tasted good.
