Christmas cruise was astronomical

Happy New Year to everyone.  It is such a blessing to be able to encounter the new year. I know that seems like old news but I have been out of the country on a cruise and was not able to send my article in to the newspaper.

I know we have the internet and that leads us to the world wide web. But on a cruise and it is $4.99 per minute to talk on the phone as long as the ship is out away from land.  $1.30 to send a picture. So you pay AT&T $10.00 per day to use their services as long as the ship is docked and you are on land. You learn so much about how your money is absorbed so readily.

The cruise was astronomical.  We sailed out of New Orleans with our first day at sea.  The second day was at Cozumel, which was Christmas Day. December 25th is also Dr. Lanee Riley’s birthday.  We spent the day at the beach in Cozumel celebrating Lanee’s birthday. The sun and sand were wonderful. The pictures of my two Dr. relatives in their swim suits on the beach and in the water were really worth taking.

The third day we docked at Roatan, Honduras. I spent my day on this little orange and red motored train riding all around Roatan seeing the sights. There were so many pictures taken and they made wonderful memories.

The fourth day we spent it in Harvest Caye, Belize, Central America. In Roatan and Belize to get off the cruise ship we had to board a tether boat and motor to land.  The cruise ship was five miles out from Belize.  I always enjoy the sightseeing of whatever port we sail into.

The fifth day we sailed into Costa Maya, Mexico.  There the ship docked at the peer and we were able to walk off the ship at the dock.   A lot of us went sightseeing in the city and shopping in the local port. There are so many items that the tourist can purchase.

The sixth day was a sea day.  The ship was sailing back to New Orleans.  We got off the ship on Saturday morning and started on our trek back home. If you get the opportunity take a cruise.  It is a wonderful experience.

Those who sailed on this cruise was Dr. Locord Wilson and her husband Tom Wilson, their two daughters who reside in Houston, TX.  Tiona Wilson and her sister Dr. Tomika Wilson Greer, husband Jonte, two daughters, Jayla and Tamyra Greer.   Dr. Lorraine Dozier, two daughters, Dr. Lanee Riley and Larissa Page,  Lariss’s three children, Jordan Riley, Joseph Page and Daylan Page.

Constance McClendon, her two daughters, Cadessica and Chelsey and Chelsey’s son Cameron Jones. B. H. his wife Sylvia and daughter TeeLisa Kennedy.  Zina Cousin, Leslie Nash, Delie Shepard and her grandson LaBoris Ross.

The Century Family Reunion will be held at Roosevelt Park, June 22 and 24, 2018. Saturday Night events will be held at Reach One on One in Forest.  We are gearing up for great attendance.  The Reunion is at home where all the people originated from that started the reunion in the Sixties.
