Announcements: New Liberty Baptist Church will host the Baptist Association Senior Adult Day on Thursday, November 2 with registration beginning at 9:30 a.m. There will be information booths, featured speaker Mike Lee and music leader Tal Vardaman.  A luncheon meal and fellowship will enhance the event.  Everyone is invited.
Begin planning for the Creative Christmas event, sponsored by the Mississippi Homemaker Volunteers (Scott county council of MSU Extension Service) on November 16 at Forest National Guard facility. Set up for tables is 8:30 a.m. Open to the public from 10 a.m . -2 p.m.  To exhibit at a table please contact the Scott County Extension Office (601-469-4241) to reserve your space and acquire more information.
There will be a Healthy Holiday Recipe contest during the event at 10 a.m.  Categories are:  The Fresh Express-featuring salad and vegetables; Getting to the Meat of the Matter - meat; Throwing it all Together - casseroles, crockpots, etc.;  Healthy Treats; Bake it Healthy or Bake it Good. Entry forms and complete contest rules are available at the Scott County Extension Office, 230 south Davis Street, Forest.
Congratulations to: Victoria Vivians, graduate of Scott Central High School, presently a member of the MSU Women's Basketball team on being crowned MSU Homecoming Queen, elected by the student body, during Halftime Ceremonies at the MSU vs Kentucky game.  While a student athlete at Scott Central she set a new high school basketball record in scoring and she and her MSU teammates reached the Final Four National Tournament in 2016.
