Ringgold Road

To all that live on and have to travel Ringgold Road, I have bad news for you. I talked to our Supervisor, Bruce McMillian, this week about the “mess” that has been made on the resurfacing job. “He advised that he was not pleased with the work, but feels like it will be some better next summer when they put the finish on it and stripe it.  It is a ‘State Road’ and not under his control.” The speed limit on county roads, according to Sheriff Mike Lee, is 35 mph.  It is easy to observe this limit because of rough surface.  I suppose we should be happy that it is not a gravel road like we had years ago?

Recipe for Sweet Potato Balls:
4 baked sweet potatoes peeled and mashed
2/3 cups brown sugar packed
2 tablespoons orange juice
1 teaspoon orange zest
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
2 cups sweetened coconut
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Mix potatoes, brown sugar, orange juice, orange zest, nutmeg together.  Toss  coconut, sugar and and cinnamon together.  Press sweet potatoes mixture around marshmallow to make a ball, roll each ball in the mixture of white sugar and cinnamon and coconut creating a 2 to 3 inch ball. Bake in 350 degree oven for 15 to 20 minutes. Watch carefully for the last few minutes as marshmallows can cause the potato balls to burst open.
Do you have the “Here After Disease”?  Walk in another room and wonder what you’re here after?
Hints for a better life:  if you have been offended by someone — forgive them. If you've offended someone, apologize. Don’t drag around carrying resentment with you. It only serves to make you sad and bitter, doesn't matter who was right. Someone once said, “holding a grudge is like taking poison and expecting the other person to die.”  Don't take that poison, forgive and forget and move on with your life.
Have a God blessed week and be sure to share with others.
