Mrs. Maxine Craig, age 91, passed away Thursday June 7, 2018 at her residence in Morton, MS. Visitation was held on Friday June 8, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and Saturday June 9, from 8:30 a.m. until 9:20 a.m. at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS. Funeral Services were held on Saturday June 9, 2018 at 10:00 a.m.



AR-15 Affirmation Day

During July 4 range activities Precision Shooting Center held AR-15 Affirmation Day by having only AR-15 rifles shot from 1- 4 pm. The range sponsored and held this event to affirm the rights of citizens under the 2nd Amendment to legally own AR-15s.

Midway Park is open with tables and playground equipment for the children. More is needed in the construction and operations of the park.  Fundraising will become an inevitable objective of the park.  When asked to give, please give as generous as you can.

Well, the sad, undeniable truth is — Forest is dying!  So, now, the more important question becomes — Why is Forest dying? The answers to why Forest is dying may be a little too much for just one ‘letter to the editor’, but we can start with the #1 cause that Forest is dying — Forest is a Sanctuary City.

Second Annual Toy Drive underway

The Scott County Sheriff’s Department began accepting donations Monday in their second annualy Sheriff’s Toy Drive. There is a drop off box at the Scott County Sheriff’s Department in the lobby which is open to the public 24 hours a day. There will be a small drop box at Petals & More in Forest.
