During a recent awards ceremony, the Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) recognized employees for their years of continuous service to the agency. The executive director and the Mississippi Transportation Commission thank these employees for their hard work and dedication to the agency.

Often classiness is believed to be related to one’s wealth, success, sophistication or overall status in life, or their lack thereof. During my walk-through life I have come to realize that classiness has nothing to do with someone’s standing in life and has everything to do with the selfless desire to make the world around you a better place.



Garbology 101

It is three-tenths of a mile from the end of my driveway down the dirt and gravel Pine Grove Road to Highway 21. Three-tenths of a mile. A little after 6:00 a.m. on the Fourth of July I decided to walk to the highway and back because I was more than a little perturbed on the eve of the Fourth  as I drove in from work.

Mr. Bobby Stroud, age 76, passed away Sunday June 10, 2018 at his residence in Lake, MS. Visitation was held on Tuesday June 12, 2018 from 10:30 a.m. until 1:50 p.m. at Wolf Funeral Services in Lake, MS. Funeral Services were held on Tuesday June 12, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Wolf Funeral Services Chapel in Lake, MS. Officiating was Rev.

The Scott County Sheriff’s Department began accepting donations Monday in their second annualy Sheriff’s Toy Drive. There is a drop off box at the Scott County Sheriff’s Department in the lobby which is open to the public 24 hours a day. There will be a small drop box at Petals & More in Forest.
