This is a new recipe shared by a friend, and we have all made it at least twice...maybe more.

For the ingredients you will need:

6 cans cut string beans  (any brand) and drain 4 cans of beans into a Dutch oven

Fry one half pound of bacon until crisp and set on paper towels

David Scott Bassett, 55, of Forest, Mississippi, died Friday, April 13, 2018 at Anderson Regional Hospital in Meridian, Mississippi. He was born Wednesday, January 2, 1963 in Forest, Mississippi.

Home Run Hunnies

The Morton High School Lady Panters Softball team is hosting a fundraiser, Home Run Hunnies, on Monday, April 9 at 6:30 p.m. in the high school auditorium. See the Lady Panters as you have never seen them before. Admission is $2 and everybody can purchase score cards and help judge.

Forestry Banquet Oct. 26

The Scott County Forestry Association Banquet will be held Thursday, October 26 at Roosevelt State Park Lodge.  Registration will begin at 6:00 p.m. with the meal and program beginning at 6:30 p.m.  Please call the Scott County Extension Office at 601-469-4241 by October 16 to register for the banquet.

Second Annual Toy Drive underway

The Scott County Sheriff’s Department began accepting donations Monday in their second annualy Sheriff’s Toy Drive. There is a drop off box at the Scott County Sheriff’s Department in the lobby which is open to the public 24 hours a day. There will be a small drop box at Petals & More in Forest.
