Often classiness is believed to be related to one’s wealth, success, sophistication or overall status in life, or their lack thereof. During my walk-through life I have come to realize that classiness has nothing to do with someone’s standing in life and has everything to do with the selfless desire to make the world around you a better place.


Garbology 101

It is three-tenths of a mile from the end of my driveway down the dirt and gravel Pine Grove Road to Highway 21. Three-tenths of a mile. A little after 6:00 a.m. on the Fourth of July I decided to walk to the highway and back because I was more than a little perturbed on the eve of the Fourth  as I drove in from work.

Mr. Don Hall, age 70, passed away Thursday June 14, 2018 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, MS. Visitation was held on Saturday June 16, 2018 from 12:00 p.m. until 1:50 p.m. at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS. Services followed at 2:00 p.m. at Wolf Funeral Services Chapel in Morton, MS. There was no graveside services.


Michael Douglas Hoard

Mr. Michael Douglas Hoard, age 55, passed away Wednesday June 20, 2018 at The Cancer Center in Newnan, GA. Visitation was held Monday June 25, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS. Services were held Tuesday June 26, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church in Morton, MS.

Well, the sad, undeniable truth is — Forest is dying!  So, now, the more important question becomes — Why is Forest dying? The answers to why Forest is dying may be a little too much for just one ‘letter to the editor’, but we can start with the #1 cause that Forest is dying — Forest is a Sanctuary City.

Sheriff’s Toy Drive

The Scott County Sheriff’s Department 2nd Annual Toy Drive is right on track and happening right now. They have a large drop off box in their lobby and it is open to the public 24 hours a day. There is also a small drop box at Petals & More in Forest.

Second Annual Toy Drive underway

The Scott County Sheriff’s Department began accepting donations Monday in their second annualy Sheriff’s Toy Drive. There is a drop off box at the Scott County Sheriff’s Department in the lobby which is open to the public 24 hours a day. There will be a small drop box at Petals & More in Forest.
