Services were at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at the Wilcox Chapel with Bro. Mike Ingram officiating. Burial was in the Warren Family Cemetery. Wilcox Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

James W. Wolverton passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2018. Funeral services will be conducted by Wilcox Funeral Home, 106 S. Jordan St., Carthage, MS 39051 at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 21, 2018. Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM on Friday, April 20. Interment with Military Honors will follow at High Hill Cemetery in Walnut Grove. Rev.


Health Fair set for April 26

Scott Regional Hospital, A Division of Rush Health Systems, will be holding their 2018 Annual Health Fair, “Carnival to Better Health” on Thursday, April 26, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at the hospital located at 317 Highway 13 South, Morton.

Funeral services for Mr. James “Rod” Phillips were conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 from the Ott & Lee Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ray Ingram and Bro. Billy Ray Parker officiating. Interment followed in the Morton Church of God Cemetery under the direction of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.



Reggie Kenneth Hunter, Sr.

Reggie Kenneth Hunter, Sr., 75, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at his home in Brandon, MS. surrounded by his family.  Visitation was Saturday, December 30, 2017 from 12 Noon until 2 p.m. at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS.  Funeral Services were at 2:00 p.m.

Second Annual Toy Drive underway

The Scott County Sheriff’s Department began accepting donations Monday in their second annualy Sheriff’s Toy Drive. There is a drop off box at the Scott County Sheriff’s Department in the lobby which is open to the public 24 hours a day. There will be a small drop box at Petals & More in Forest.
