Frank Warren Mize

Frank Warren Mize passed away on October 6, 2017.  Frank was born in Forest, MS on September 19, 1927. He attended Forest High School, Hinds Junior College, and graduated from Mississippi State with an Engineering degree.  Frank served in the Navy during WWII.
On September 5, 1952, Frank married Doris Elizabeth Johnson of Morton, MS and they enjoyed 60 years together.  He was in the oil business managing environmental safety with Gulf/Chevron which allowed him and Doris to travel extensively around the world.  Frank’s career lead them to live in New Orleans, LA and Bakersfield, CA.  Upon retirement they moved to Hatties-burg, MS, and later to Fairfield, CA.  Frank enjoyed talking politics and sports and was an avid Mississippi State and New Orleans Saints football fan.  Doris and Frank last made their home in Fairfield, CA where Frank especially enjoyed his golf and social friends at Green Valley Country Club, and Rockville Presbyterian Fellowship.  His last year was spent in Laurel, MS at Lynnwood Senior Care.  Frank was known for his warm and generous spirit.  He loved to joke around, and his humor bit down hard on whatever subject caught his fancy.
Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Doris, and his parents, Robert Mize and Marsha Miller Mize.  He is survived by his cousin Patricia Fell Knowles of Florida, and numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be a graveside service at the Old Morton Cemetery on Saturday, October 14 at 11:00 A.M. and a gathering of friends and family afterwards at Penn’s Fish House Restaurant in Forest.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rockville Presbyterian Fellowship, or the charity of the donor’s choice.
